Is preparing for her second breakfast.
The fact that it's lunch time and four hours since the first breakfast
Is beside the point.

Must've Travelled Far In My Dreams
Because I think I had a bit of jet lag this morning.
Although, I'm sure there are other reasons for waking up at 6:15 at my age.
A quarter of an hour before the alarm was set to go off.
As it is, it's not quite 8:45 and I've made (and cleaned up) breakfast, prepared and packed a school lunch and sipped down two cups of tea.
... and checked the balance at the bank, and stalked all my Facebook friends, and made a play on 6 of my current Scrabble games, and started the beans for supper, and run the dishwasher through a rinse cycle...
Incidentally, if you type "run the" (as in dishwasher) too fast and it comes out "runt he", it's hard to catch because both of those are real words and it doesn't get a "spell check" line under it...
I could go have a shower.
Or go back to bed.
Or do any of a number of other chores, I'm sure.
But bed is starting to look pretty good again.
Maybe just for a nap...

I Was Ironing Some Shirts
And Micah was sitting on the floor of the laundry room,
And we were discussing his abysmal grades last year.
During the course of the dialogue, it came about that he said to me, "Are you questioning my integrity?"
"No," I answered, "Your intelligence."
That's what he meant.
I rest my case.

So This Will Be Day Two
Of the two day relish.
It's doesn't say "Two Day Relish" on the recipe, but it's turned into that for me.
Three, technically, if the hour spent the night before the first day counts. That's when I grated the green tomatoes.
So far, I've prepared the vegetables- grated some cucumbers, onions and the green tomatoes from the tomato plants outside (Yes, Linea, they did grow!), and finely diced the red & green peppers and the celery.
Today I merely need to cover the stuff with boiling water and leave it for an hour, then make the brine and cook it up. Hopefully I'll get the stuff in jars and get it processed in the canner before bed time, or it will turn into three day relish.
So what am I telling you about it for?! I should be boiling water and measuring vinegar!
Okay!
I'm going.
And we're having steak tomorrow for supper.
Well, I'll be having relish. I'll just want something to go under it.

Note To Self :
When washing quart jars, keep the snap lids out of the sink.
They fit EXACTLY in the drain and if one should slip to the bottom of the sink it will slide into the drain, covering the plug and becoming nearly impossible to get out.
Should you forget, and should another snap lid get stuck in the drain covering the plug, immediately skip to plan G.
Don't bother with the magnet tipped canning aid, the bottle opener, the kitchen knives, wine bottle suction thing, cork screw, or hammer and nail.
Go straight for the large screw, give it a couple of taps with the hammer, a couple of turns with the screw driver, and then pull the blasted lid out of the plug hole.
Don't curse the water for not draining. Remember that the sink is still plugged in.
I'm just saying.

Not Sure I'm Ready For This
I'd better be, by 12:30 or so.
That's when the kids should start arriving.
It's VBS/Carnival Day here in The Field.
It looks like it will be a good day for it- unless the wind that is blowing the mosquitoes toward Saskatchewan also blows the bean-bag toss & inflatable slide away.
I think I'm ready to teach my 1/2 hour lesson four times. My biggest concern is that I'll find out halfway through the third group that the story I switched in has been taught in another session.
Oh, well.
We'll take that as it comes.
As I look out the back window and see two guys in the cemetary with a front end loader, I wonder if it's colder than it seems at first glance; they're both buttoned up to the neck (coats) wearing hats & gloves. Well, farmers always wear hats...it's the gloves and coats that worry me!
That and the cold breeze moaning and whistling through the partially opened windows...
Better wear a sweater with the shorts today...

In Spite Of Waking Up At 7:08 am
Or maybe because of...
It is turning into a very slow morning.
Now it's 10:50 and I'm just getting on with the shower...
Should've had coffee instead of tea.
