A Hole In One

Just finished reading "Holes", by Louis Sachar, to Micah.

What a great book. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It was a good read-aloud book.

An excellent, well choreographed plot that wove a story from the present with several stories from the past, bringing all the loose ends together for a satisfying conclusion.

A must read.

  1. Holes is one of the books that the movie is just as good as the book. Perhaps the fact that Louis Sachar wrote the script as well as the book has something to do with it.

Another really good read aloud (particularly for boys of about that age) is Eric Walters books. I highly recommend Stand Your Ground and Stars, but my kids have enjoyed all of his. For an added bonus, he's a Canadian author.
