I See A Nursery Rhyme Crescent Moon

Through the Window.

Whether it's the one that the cow jumped over, or the one that Winkin, Blinkin and Nod sailed by I can't tell.

The fire is burning in the gas fireplace, giving the room a feeling of warmth, in spite of the nearly -40 C temperature outside. Sometimes fiery illusions are pleasant and comforting.

The Christmas tree has not been put away yet, and the lights still twinkle happily in the corner there.

One more day with the College Students to look forward to. Then comes Sunday and Church and a quick trip to meet up with their ride back to school.

The house will feel too quiet again. Too bare once Christmas is boxed up for another year.

But I like the moon.

And I like the fire.

And the twinkling, coloured lights are pretty.

And my only resolution for 2009 is to make no resolutions.

Well...

Maybe I will resolve to send that book to the publisher.

And to buy no more bulk Smarties...

And to read more nursery rhymes...

Winkin' Blinkin' and Nod, one night Sailed off in a wooden shoe;
Sailed off on a river of crystal light into a sea of dew.
"Where are you going and what do you wish?" the old moon asked the three.
"We've come to fish for the herring fish that live in this beautiful sea;
Nets of silver and gold have we" said Winkin' Blinkin' and Nod.
