What? It's Saturday Already?

That's the trouble with summer... and no school schedule to keep you on track.

I keep forgetting what day it is.

Shoot... I forgot to go pick the spinach that was offered me too...

I have been working on my spring cleaning, though, even if it's a couple months late.

I spent two days sorting through six years of mail... there's quite a box full of old bills and things to be shredded or burned and I'm making progress on finding the bed in the sewing room that got lost mid-November when I was getting ready for Christmas and Open House.

It really feels like the "lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer", minus the soda, pretzels and beer. I suppose it could be diet soda... but no pretzels or beer for me this summer...

Anyway, I thought I should check in so no one thinks I've been struck by lightening or a falling wind-blown tree. I'm actually doing pretty well, all things considered. The gluten-free, dairy-free and (now) soy-free diet seems to be really helping  and I don't think I've felt so well for many years. It mostly means cooking from scratch, as opposed to using cans of condensed soup, and baking with a variety of weird flours rather than having regular baked things, but as I generally like to cook and bake (especially when I feel well...) that's not too much of a problem.

So.. yeah. Not too  much to report. All's fairly quiet on this western front.

I may need to implement a weekly agenda though, just to keep track of the days. I have joked that one day I'll wander into the kitchen, notice all the vehicles in the parking lot and wonder what's going on at the church, only to be reminded that it is, in fact, Sunday...

That won't happen tomorrow, though.

'Cause I know that today is Saturday... already...

  1. I feel the same way. I noticed this morning that everyone was commenting on going to the beach. I thought, WHY?! THen I realized IT'S SATURDAY! Really, there's no concept of time when both parents aren't working. Plus three days away camping will do it to you too.

    Glad you're days are good.

  2. So glad the "free" diet is helping.

And school will come again soon enough. Oh, yeah - forgot - not necessarily to your house. That will take some adjusting to.
