But not forgotten.

While we were at church, being still on holiday and having gone visiting at another church in town, our eldest children, who went to our usual church and were home an hour and a half before us, caught and disposed of IT.

Apparently the gopher got brave in our absences, and was out and about the yard. When The Three came home from church they espied little gopher eyes peering out from the shed. He was subsequently cornered, trapped, transported and tossed into the river.

He was last seen struggling up the river bank, several blocks from our house.

Although he seems to have gender issues, I'll let Micah give the eulogy.

Good-bye little furry guy.

He was the stuff blogs are made of.

Think of the money you'll save in Gopher food.
