One More For The Road

Well, 18 years and one day ago, Johanna Joy made me a Mother for the first time.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. We laughed, we cried.

It's been good, and I'm looking forward to the next stage in our relationship. It's been nice having daughters, and it's been fun growing up with them. Both my daughters are sliding nicely into adulthood. They make me proud.

The adventure began in earnest last night, when we put her on the overnight College Express, from Saskatoon to Calgary. (looked like about a dozen people going, and most of them young, with parental send-off committees in attendance!) And so it begins.

Let's hope it's not the winter of our discontent!

  1. Winter is a time of old things dying before they come back to life. It sounds like you two have had to let a fair bit die recently. I hope your spring arrives soon.

I think you're both being very brave and very open about the struggles you're having.
