Catching Up

Feels like I've been gone forever.

It's been a wild week.

I think it's over now, and after today I should be able to get back to normal...whatever that looks like.

I think all the fall bake sales are done.

Halloween is over.

Christmas prep hasn't started yet.

In the rush of it all I managed to sew myself a shirt, and bake countless dozens of cupcakes and ghost and pumpkin sugar cookies. I've been "here" (where the buck stops) for the school's Halloween tea and bake sale, and I've contributed to the setting up and functioning of the Church Ladies' fall sale. I've been working on the last chapter of War and Peace, knit 1 and 1/2 mittens, had tea with a few friends that have been slipping through the cracks, paid the bills, kept the house running and the occupants fed. I still haven't kicked the cough that remains from the flu I had. I've talked a few kids off a few ledges, planned a Sunday School craft, made a Spider Web cake for a bake sale door prize, changed the calendar from October to November, (and, as Yule Brenner in the King and I would say,)  etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Makes me tired just thinking about it.

So, if you've missed me, that's what I've been doing.

Still not sure where I've been.

Normal is just a setting on the dryer! Wow, what an adrenaline rush you must have had to get all that done. I remember all the days I spent running around with my hair on fire wondering where the smoke was coming from!

The nice thing about your busy "season" is that it is just a season in your life. One that you have documented well on your blog and one that will give you warm memories over a cup of tea in the future.

Keep blogging....I feel like part of the family. You're the best! Kathy
