Lest I Forget

Micah has been getting harder and harder to understand.

I think he's talking too fast, and he's letting his tongue get lazy, so his speech kind of morphs all together, and it is very rare, these days, that he says something to someone and isn't asked to repeat it.

As he was eating breakfast this morning, he was telling me about some weird dreams he had, the gist of which included him travelling with a group of actors, like Covenant Players. (My friend Tracey is having an influence here!)

A little later he said something, and I, in what is becoming typical fashion, said, "Pardon me?"

He repeated himself, and I said, "You know, if you're going to be an actor you're going to have to learn how to talk! Start slowing down at least!"

He said, with a pre-teenaged near-sneer, "Well, maybe I'll be an actor that doesn't talk."

I said he'd have to start working on his reflexes then, because that would make him a Mime, and people throw things at Mimes.

My Micah.

Micah the Mime. Mime-icah?

It has a certain ring to it...(and...AHH... the sound of silence!)

  2. Micah sounds too much like my little brother. I love it! You had Jerry and I laughing too hard.

  3. I shall pray against this. We all know, mimery is one of the unforgiveable sins....
