I woke Up Just Before 7:00 This Morning,

And began the day.

There was the wake-me-up shower, I made french toast for the boys for breakfast (I was still fasting),  made Thomas a sandwich for lunch, curled my hair and threw on some eye make-up, got dressed in there somewhere, dashed out the door at 8:40, made a pit stop to put air in a tire, got the blood work done at the Clinic, ran an errand at the bank, grabbed some bacon and eggs at A & W, stopped in at Zellers for a Birthday card and tape on my way to a 10:00 session at the Diabetes Clinic, spent an hour with the nice lady at the Diabetes Centre, stopped in at the Co-Op to mail Johanna's Birthday gift (late, I know) and pick up some canning jars, and got home in time to make Micah's lunch and read a chapter of the Harry Potter book while he ate it.

That was the morning.

After lunch I walked with Micah to his school to photocopy a letter for the grade 7 classes, (we have to play catch-up with the babysitting course that should have happened before they finished grade 6), then I sliced 4 pounds of cucumbers and 2 peppers, and peeled a pound of pearl onions for pickles, did the breakfast and lunch dishes, washed, dried and put away 3 loads of laundry, made an emergency water bottle run back to the school before the Cross Country meet, made baked chicken with potatoes, carrots and broccoli for supper, put away the breakfast and lunch dishes, then washed and dried the supper dishes and a dozen canning jars, cooked, canned and processed 6 jars of bread and butter pickles, ground up 6 pounds of cucumbers and a pepper for relish, did another load of laundry, ironed 2 shirts (not for me) watered the plants before they go looking for a home that loves them, took out the garbage twice, and cleaned up the pickle mess.

And I told that Diabetes Clinician that I lived a "sort of" sedentary life.

Ha!

  1. I know this seems menial compared to all the other things you did today, but I am surprised you let your kids near Harry Potter books.

I think they are full of the things we are supposed to avoid as Christians, witchcraft, sorcery.....

    What are your thoughts?

  2. Your day sounds just like Ken's day. There is a common element with "Work-at-home" moms and retired dads....their day is "jam" packed and by the end of it they feel like they're "pickled".

  3. Why are you reading Harry Potter books? For shame.

  4. Why "for shame"?

I'm working on a post about this. Stay tuned. It's coming soon to a blog near you.

  5. teehee...."for shame"

tsk tsk, mother dearest, thee best take care of what thine eyes percieve, else thee may grow so accustomed to the wolf that thee may mistake it for the sheep.
