Old Timers

?

For the past several nights I've been awakened between 4 and 5:00.

a.m.

!!!

If I ignore whatever woke me up- bladder, hips, hunger... and turn over and go back to sleep, I'm alright.

If, however, like this morning, I get up and go to the bathroom or even if I just think about getting up for  too long, I'm doomed.

I'm doomed to a completely shortened sleep.

I'm doomed to be guaranteed to not fall back into a blissful haven of unconsciousness.

Doomed to spend the rest of the sleeping hours with my brain as active as a brain on 5 hours of sleep can be.

And the worst of it, as I lay ruminating on it all this morning before I gave in and started up the computer to send some emails and see if the Swiss Daughter was online to chat, is that- to add insult to injury, not only is my body doing these strange "wake- up- in- the- middle- of- the- night- like- an- old- person" things...

I'm spending far too much time talking about it.

LIKE AN OLD PERSON!!!

If this is 43, I shudder to think what's coming next!

  1. Lauralea, Trust me, you shouldn't be getting "old-timers" yet, in other words, not being able to sleep. You should have many, many years in you yet to be worrying about that. But then again ---------

  3. Is not waking at all hours of the night a "baby" thing to do? Maybe you're pregnant?

Does that make you feel better?
