The Recognition Factor

As I was walking toward my back yard yesterday, having decided to take a few flower pictures in the bush next door,

A couple of kids on bikes rode by.

"Hi!" the little boy shouted out.

"Hey!" I responded.

"Are you a teacher?" he asked.

"Nope." I said.

"Then why were you up there at my school?"

"I'm a helper," I said.

"Oh. Bye!"

And off they went.

Never underestimate the power of the Home and School Committee Community Council. It could open endless possibilities. You might meet new people, make some new friends, learn a new skill...

And little kids on bikes aren't afraid of you, because they've seen you at their school.

Nearly as good as being a Block Parent, only you don't get a cool sign for your front window.

We should work on that next year...
