When You Were The Oldest Kid In The Family

Did you ever memorize the English side of the cereal box so that you could "read" the French side to your younger siblings and thus amaze them with your outstanding linguistic abilities?

Or was that just me then?

  1. Very impressive or slightly weird - you decide !

However, I don't think kids over here would be impressed these days - I just checked my cornflakes packet and it lists the ingredients in 8 diff languages - inc Arabic.

I also bought a new tv last week and the instructions came in 16 european languages - too bad I can't understand them in English !

  2. My parents stuck us in french immersion, we all could read the french, we just didn't want to.
