Don't Fence Me In

At least as far as my musical tastes go.

As I write, tunes from the "Heartbeat Summer" album (a 3 CD set we picked up 2 summers ago in Glasgow) with songs from the 50's and 60's is playing.

Holly Cole's, "Girl Talk", "The Essential Simon And Garfunkle" and "I Just Dropped By To Say Hello"- the mellow jazzy blues of Johnny Hartman are queueing up.

All this was preceded by "16 of Alabama's greatest hits"...

I'd say my musical leanings go from eclectic to eccentric... Great Big Sea, Bowser & Blue, Arrogant Worms, Anne Murray, Barbara Streisand, Moe Koffman, ABBA, Herman's Hermits, Chumbawamba, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, The Flying Pickets, Micheal Buble, Don Mclean, Nat King Cole, Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms...

Choirs, Orchestras, Broadway Musicals, Hymns, Show Tunes, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Classic Rock, Southern Gospel, even Country...

That barely scratches the surface.

If you can tell something about a person by the music on their shelf, I wonder what my music would tell you about me?!

All I know is that music- poetry, melody, harmony, rhythm... is in my blood.

A day without music is like a day without... iron pills.

Which reminds me...
