Leaning Into God's Grace

Is a little like a slow slide into a snowbank.

You do everything as you should- you weren't driving too fast, you took your foot off the gas to slow down in plenty of time, you took the corner gently...

But the back tires catch the ice at the end of the turn,

The fishtail starts

And all you can do is go with the flow.

You might keep your hands firmly clenched to the steering wheel,

But you're not driving.

That's the part that's like Grace.

Realizing that there's nothing you can do.

Recognizing that you're not in control anyway, so you might as well lean back into your seat and see where the ride takes you.

Yeah.

I slid into the ditch on my way home this morning.

But it was a gentle slide at the corner right by my house, and a couple of wingless Angels were quickly on hand to push me back onto the road.

So it's all good.

Welcome back to winter driving.

  1. Oh my...thank goodness you were close to home...and had help right away!

Missed going to Camrose - opted for brunch with our kids in Leduc instead. Did you go by yourself??

  2. Glad it was a gentle slide. And with this freezing weather you sure would not want to be stuck outside too long.
