I just recognized a leap of excitement in my stomach.
A little surge of joy.
A hiccup of pure happiness.
What was I doing?
Emptying the dishwasher in preparation of clearing up the counters in preparation of baking two cakes for tonight's MOPS appreciation night at the church.
I haven't had a reason (besides Randall & Micah who either don't or shouldn't eat a whole cake...) to tackle a major baking project for several months.
Granted, there was that 6 weeks of post-surgery doldrums and a week away, but it feels like forever!
I'm so excited, I must say.
Lemon Poppy Seed Cake and Butter Pecan Cake (not from scratch) with butterscotch icing and toasted pecans here I come!
You did seem a bit crazed with that look in your eye.
ReplyDeleteI love how something like that brings you much joy. I'm sorry I don't or can't appreciate it as much as it deserves to be appreciated.
But if I did I'd be a fat man.
Yum! Baking is my favourite therapy. Off to make oatmeal cookies now.
ReplyDeletecan I come to MOPs tomorrow? Sounds wonderful!
