The Last Supper

Tomorrow is colonoscopy prep day. You know what that means.

Tonight was the last meal for me until Tuesday at lunch. Maybe. If I'm lucky. We'll see.

It was a good last supper, though. Went out with a bang.

We killed a chocolate bunny, half a fresh pineapple, a pint of strawberries, two bananas and several digestive cookies.

MmmMm.

I hope the memory of it carries me through the morrow.

This sugar high will certainly carry me through tonight!

Unless I succumb to the soporific quality of the fruity goodness.

  1. Curious as to how you manage your diabetes through colonoscopy prep? You're not going to bottom out? Courage, it's not the loveliest thing to go through, from an eye witness perspective!

    1. We'll see how it goes. I talked about it with the diabetes counselor, and she said to treat it as you would the flu- take 15 g of carb (regular Jello, clear juice or soda) every hour. I'll be monitoring my blood glucose pretty carefully today. More worrisome is tomorrow; complete fast after midnight but no meds. I'm supposed to be at the hospital by 8:30, so at least I'll be close to an IV if the glucose levels go south :)

At least tea without milk is on the list of "clear fluids". I'll be keeping a pot on the go.
