Let The Celebrations Begin

So, it's my birthday this week...

A not-so-insignificantly-numbered birthday...

I will be glad when the week is over- not because I have any particular qualms about turning 50, (because after all, as I speculated the other day, I don't expect to live to be 100, so I'm not middle aged. I'm actually well past middle age...) but it's a busy week.

Husband and I are heading into the city pretty soon to do whatever I want to do today. *which, for the record, is NOT my favourite kind of day... too much pressure... but I'll do my best to think of fun things to do...

I think today will include a meal at Doans Vietnamese restaurant and a stroll down Whyte Ave., with some poking about in the second hand book shops and maybe a coffee break at one of the myriad Second Cups or Starbucks establishments along the way. It also needs to involve a pit stop at Safeway on our way home to get the supplies for this week's MOPS, as well as any other birthday-type treats I feel so inclined to pick up.

Tuesday looks like it will be a "home blessings" kind of day, to borrow a phrase from a Ladies' Retreat friend. Laundry, some cleaning, and the initial prep for the snack at MOPS.

Wednesday, the actual birthday, will (hopefully) have a few happy interruptions from children and  the granddaughter, as well as making sure everything's ready for the big event of the week...

And that would be MOPS on Thursday morning, followed by Reflexology in the afternoon and a big birthday party Thursday evening.

I feel a little sheepish to say that I'm rather looking forward to Friday, which has nothing on the calendar except baking some cookies for a fundraiser on Saturday; since I enjoy baking cookies and have figured out the ROKU thingy on the kitchen TV and can find the Netflix movies... I think Friday has the potential to be a particularly lovely and relaxed day.

One day at a time, right?

And today is quickly slipping away, so I should go brush my teeth and apply a spot of makeup and get the show on the road... although it sounds quite nice and calm in the other room where Himself has Classic FM queued up on the internet radio...

And, we're off....
