Just To Let You Know

I'm thinking Thomas might get a snow day today.

It's not quite light enough out there to see the damage... but I have a feeling the car is snowed in with drifting snow.

It has been coming down all night, and continues to snow and blow.

His school is out at noon today, anyway, so if it's going to take an hour to shovel out to the street he might as well save his energy and wait until it's a little lighter and warmer to get the car mobile.

As for me?

I'm going to go enjoy a cup of tea from my new teapot while I make some French Toast for breakfast!

Ta!

*UPDATE: Thomas, being more man than boy these days, just powered right through the snow drifts. He reported that they only looked really deep because of the shadows, although from where I stood (safely on the warm side of the kitchen window) the snow seemed to come more than halfway up the tire. More power to him... in so many ways today!

  1. Well done again! Let me know how it works (that is, if it works well or poorly).

  2. It pours beautifully! I measured it out and it holds a generous three cups. Just right for solitaire or sharing with a friend! But for the record, I only actually "made" the spout. I did put it all together and glaze it... but my pottery teacher formed the lid and the pot itself. We made a good teapot, though!

  3. That's a good young man you have there. I remember needing much prodding to get me to shovel some days.

  4. Oh, no- you misunderstand! There was no shoveling involved! He just powered up and drove on through. Maybe I should have clarified- "Thomas, being more lazy man than boy these days..."

    Ah well!

    And still it snows!

  5. Well then, let me be the first to say it...that is the nicest, straightest spout I think I've seen on a teapot in a long time. Very nice!!

  6. How beautiful!!! Great job there Lauralea. One seldom gets a tea pot that doesn't pour more tea onto the table than in the cup. I'm just so terribly envious.
