How To Use Your Coconuts

We bought the Special Edition Monty Python and the Holy Grail the other day.

It's been a favourite of ours for a long time, and when we saw it on DVD we couldn't resist.

I opened it up this morning, and started reading.

Even more than the "Extraordinary Animated Menus with very loud 5.1 Dolby Digital sound!" , the "Exciting 'Follow The Killer Rabbit' Feature", or the "glorious extra 24 seconds absolutely free!" , I'm looking forward to Disc Two which has titles like:

-"Three Mindless Sing-Alongs!"

-"How To Use Your Coconuts (an educational film)"

-"Monty Python and the Holy grail in Japanese! (with English subtitles)"  {aparently the subtitles are what you get when you take the Japanese translation and translate it back into English...}

-"Monty Python and the Holy grail in Lego!"

-"A Load Of Rubbish- a surprise package of mystery items specially included for the mentally challenged."

We might have to make it a Monty Python movie night!

Now, where did I put those coconuts...

  1. We have that special edition disc (though we paid twice as much for it compared to today's prices)! It's good fun! Also look for the option for the hearing impaired.

    My favourite extra feature is definitely the Japanese version with subtitles.

    Oh---also, there's a subtitle option which puts the script for Henry V on screen, in case you find the dialogue from the film boring!

    Good times.

  4. I'm afraid we only have the 'vanilla' version, although that's good for me.

  5. When we first bought the DVD, for some reason the English subtitles would always come on unasked for. At first I thought it was some annoying Monty Python style joke, but then I realized it was either the DVD player or an error on the DVD. I haven't watched it in the new DVD player (I don' think). I'm wondering if you'll have the same problem...

    Toni: You don't have a TV, do you?

  6. So why do you have a version of the movie at all?
