The Morning After The Night Before

I hate waking up with a hangover.

Especially when it isn't induced by my own alcohol consumption, but by our neighbors'.

Isn't it the way, that just when you've been musing about how little partying the neighbors have been doing- compared to previous summers- and really appreciating their consideration...

They go at it hard.

Woke me up pretty much every two hours, leaving me, in spite of the new bed, feeling fairly sleep deprived.

The biggest conundrum is what to do when I wake up in the morning.

I know that if I get up when I wake up I'll be tired all day; draggy, probably a little cranky by supper time.

I also know that if I just get up to take my un-sugar meds and go back to bed, I'll feel absolute crap when I do get up.

Usually I just get up.

Today I did, and as I was eating breakfast and wondering what to do with the day, I got a phone call with an offer of fresh cucumbers, if I could come pick them up. So, I'll be heading out in a bit, stopping by Superstore maybe, to get some fresh dill and pickling vinegar... and coarse salt? (better check the pantry...) and then with cukes in tow, the other sleepy heads will get to wake up with the lovely tang of salty vinegar brine in their nostrils.

Hmm... salty vinegar brine... that just screams "Great Big Sea"... I'd better liberate my CD from Micah's room when I get back...

UPDATE: 6 quarts of dill pickles are cooling on the table. Mmmm. Not to mention fresh green beans for supper... Thanks Bob & Virginia!
