Yeah... About That....

See, I had the two hair colouring kits because the one I bought was quite a light colour and you've been telling me that I should either let it be or go a little darker, so I got the second one because it was a darker shade and my hairdresser said I could easily mix two colours together and that because my hair is so short and quite fine, I should be able to get away with using half a kit at a time; So, I did that, but because I had two kits to begin with I only used a quarter of the solution, but I didn't mix the two parts of the kit together, I just mixed half of one of the tubes with half of the combined solutions, and then I was saving the rest of the unmixed colour solution, together with the tube and a half of the other chemical in the box. So, this morning I got up, and since it was a day off, and I had breakfast before I showered, I thought- ah, here's the day I've been waiting for; I'll give my hair a bit of colour. So I went into the bedroom... oh, didn't I mention that I had put the box sort of behind the dresser on the floor? No? Well, I did. And I went into the bedroom to get the colour kit, but when I got it to the bathroom I noticed that the box seemed a bit wimpy like, and discovered that the colour in the plastic bottle had... well, it had leaked out. So I ran back to the bedroom, and, sure enough, to my horror I found a 4 inch patch of brownish colour on the carpet, so I tried to clean it up, but of course it's permanent hair colour and even though it didn't have the permanent part of the mix in it, it still didn't come off the carpet very well, and the only good thing is that we've been talking about redoing the flooring, so at least it's the old crappy carpet... and then this afternoon I was making cream cheese icing for the banana cake, and the cream cheese wasn't softened enough and I was using the smaller mixing bowl and the KitchenAid mixer, and the icing sugar started to pouf out the sides of the bowl, so I grabbed the on switch with my left hand and the bowl with my right- I don't know what I thought I'd be able to do by grabbing the bowl to stop it. Anyway, the blade, of course, was still spinning, and my fingers were in the bowl, and the ring finger on my right hand got pretty much crushed by the blade. It still hurts like crazy, so I'm hoping I didn't actually damage the bone inside there. Poor Micah didn't know what to do, because he's never really seen his mother cry before... I'm considering seeing if the Dentist can X-ray a finger when I go tomorrow to get the permanent crown put on. And it snowed while you were gone, and we were almost killed  getting to the car yesterday because everything was covered in ice outside...

Oh- and two of the red wooden chairs were getting really loose in the joints, and one of them fell apart. Not completely apart, but the support rods between the legs fell away, and one of the chairs lost a leg...

Welcome home, Honey! How was your weekend?

Here?

Nope.

Nothing much to report here.

All steady as she goes.
