Time Trials

With winter just around the corner, I thought it might be a good thing to find out:

a) how long it takes Micah to walk from the front porch, across the yard, to where the bus stops to pick him up of a morning.

b) how long it takes the bus to come down the lane, from first sighting to bus stop.

You know.

Wondering if he'll have time to wait inside when it's 40 below. If he'd be able to make it to the road before the bus gets there.

Unfortunately, he'll either have to keep anticipating the bus' arrival, (wait outside) or move a little bit faster.

Micah's time: 55 seconds.

Bus' time: 20 seconds.

Maybe we'll try it again tomorrow to see if he can pick it up.

Of course, a bit of snow would go a long way toward motivating his normal loping gait...

  1. Ha ha ha!! It's like looking inside MY head! I was wondering the same thing too b/c this year the bus drops Amy off at the road at the end of our driveway instead of at our doorstep. Apparently the transition between Kindergarten and Grade 1 is huge!

  2. "his normal loping gait…" that perfectly describes what he does. I actually burst out laughing.
