Well That Was Fun!

(Last year during our Family Music Night/ Advent Service, the Youth Group played a particularly exciting number with drums and keyboards, violin... pretty much a full band, and at the end Little Luke could be heard to exclaim over the clapping, "That was fun!" I think of that phrase every once in awhile, and I always think of Little Luke's enthusiastic approval of the Youth Group Band. There was never better, more honest praise than from that 2 year old!)

After the HARD morning service and the delicious turkey dinner, we came home feeling tired, drained, emotional, sad, happy.

But we had a really nice evening together.

With wood donated from a good friend we built a fire in the fire pit and had roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for supper.

Then we went up to Prime Minister's Park for the Grand Council's Fireworks display- and even the cynical West Coast Daughter was impressed!

It was a beautiful way to end the day.

Today is more turkey gobbling, and more goodbyes.

  1. Glad you had a good day in the end.

Those fireworks were right outside our front door. And apparently they were really impressive. Marc grabbed Madeline out of bed to watch. I saw a few but am generally of the philosophy that once you've seen one firework, you've seen them all -- at least when you're standing outside in the cold. Apparently it was the best fireworks we've ever had (besides that Centennial one a few years back). I guess I'm a Scrooge. In the end, all of that booming and banging really woke Olivia up and I had to snuggle with her for a half hour (not that that's a bad thing).

Anyway... I hope you make some good memories today and in the coming days.

(Oh, and if you want, you can take Luke along with you today to remind you of how much fun you're having...) ;)
