If You Get Excited About Going To Town Wednesday Morning,

You might live in the country.

If you can estimate the time of day by the field position of the neighbour's grazing cows,

You might live in the country.

If you buy 3 of everything every time you're at a store,

You might live in the country.

If you've ever made guacamole with tinned, diced tomatoes because the avocados will have gone south before you got back with fresh ones,

You might live in the country.

If "30 minutes or it's free" is a moot point because no one will deliver,

You might live in the country.

If you lose your television channels and Internet connection when the wind blows,

You might live in the country.

If "Farm Fresh" conjures up disturbing olfactory memories involving a large vehicle equipped with a spray hose,

You might live in the country.

If popping over to the neighbour's for coffee involves a 5 mile walk,

You might live in the country.

If to summon 911 you need to know your Legal Land Description,

You definitely live in the country.

If The Sound Of Silence is a fact of life and not just a Simon and Garfunkle song,

You might live in the country.

If you keep a slingshot hanging inside the back door, and collect small rocks to shoot at crows and magpies,

You probably should live in the country.

If you like stargazing and bird watching, dislike rush hour traffic and loud, busy crowds, and love taking the scenic route,

Just give it up already, and move to the country.

  2. The one about the "5 mile walk to the neighbours" reminds me of Pride and Prejudice when Jane goes to Mr. Bingley's on foot because Mrs. Bennet says it "looks like rain".

I guess if some teenage girl ends up at your door with a severe chest cold, you'll know for sure that Micah is the most eligible bachelor in the area.

  3. Wish I were living there instead of you, Magpies and crows Ilove. I once had a pet magpie that lived until he was eighteen and he could speak english. I guess I just love animals, period. We own six ofthem to date. And yes, I have lived in the country. Lucky, lucky you, Lauralea.
