Morning Has Broken

I tried to fix it...

Micah's back to school this morning. He'd been home since Tuesday at lunch. We ended up getting him to a Doctor for some antibiotics. The Dr. looked at his throat and decided to not bother with a swab, reasoning that it was Thursday afternoon and the swab result would take until Monday or Tuesday to get back. I'm pretty sure it was Strep. But he's better now. Hope he's not too far behind!

It's a cool thing to be sitting in the kitchen with the laptop set up on the table, and a view to the south and the west.

The sunrise is reflected in the sun-room windows, and I can watch both the changing colours of the eastern horizon and their effect on the western sky.

Kind of neat.

And the view through the window directly across and to the left, so strongly reminds me of the country around my Grandparents' farm in BC that it's a little comforting; like coming home.

I already have a few favourite spots on the road to Wetaskiwin. A certain bend in the road. A certain stream at the bottom of a field.

I keep checking the forecast, but alas there is only sunshine and the odd bit of cloud for us. It would be nice to have some snow. Not nice for getting around in, but nice for getting into a Christmas mood. I should try to muster up a little spirit and get the decorations out. I need to plan some baking as well. Maybe this week's plan should be to plan, and next week the plan can be to execute the plan.

Ah, well. the day has been unfolding before my eyes. I should rise from this recently assembled Ikea chair to meet it.

  1. We were lamenting the loss of your baking skills at the office the other day. Who will we go to for our Christmas baking? We may have to do our own or maybe none at all.

  2. I was just catching up on some of my reading and noticed that your sickness is going 'round and 'round the family members. If it's strep you should all get antibiotics at the same time. Otherwise 'round and'round it will go! We had that same problem a couple years ago.

  3. Glad you're enjoying the scenery. However 'getting into Christmas' ought to be at least 2, if not 3, weeks away yet. Well, to this old humbug anyway.

  4. I agree. I could use some snow. I need a change of scenery. It's been brown and "blah" looking for a while now.
