The Dryer Is Dead Long Live The Dryer

Today has been a long day.

It started with a lovely tea date at 8:00 this morning, for which I made my favourite Cranberry-Orange Muffins, followed by another quick drop-in tea visit, after which I started laundry and baking.

While we were in Banff for the retreat, Micah did laundry and the dryer went from just sounding noisy and sad, to being noisy and sad and not heating.

This was just the incentive Randall needed to finally put up my umbrella line dryer. Better late than never, I suppose.

The appliance repairman is coming on Tuesday afternoon, but with warm temperatures and sunshine still in the forecast I can get everything washed, and I'm all set for a summer of fresh-air-dried sheets and towels next year.

So, what might have been a huge frustration has resulted in crisp, autumn-air and just-cut-grass smelling laundry. And that makes me happy.

The cinnamon and orange buns are made for the weekend as well, which also makes me happy.

There are orange-cranberry muffins on the counter which likewise makes me happy.

And the dishes are done, the laundry is done, Son #1 is on his way home for Thanksgiving and I'm still awake enough to play a bit before bed.

So I am, besides happy, content and well satisfied with my efforts today.

Of course, if I sit here editing this post too long, the early start might catch up with me rendering me useless as far as beneficial relaxation goes.

Consider the post edited and published.
