The End Is Near

MOPS went well this morning, in spite of my plugged ear, aching face, stiff neck and congested chest.

The Baked Oatmeal was a huge hit. I'm glad someone suggested it at the Steering Team meeting, because it's not something I would have automatically proposed for a brunch special. It's far too easy, but this snowy, wintry morning was a good day for warm, comfort food like baked oatmeal with hot cinnamon milk.

I got home from MOPS and pretty much went to bed, sleeping solidly for about two hours. Spent the evening at my first Hutterite Colony Christmas Program. That was a fun treat which came about when they needed a Santa to hand out the presents at the end of the program. Just call me "Mrs. Claus".

But MOPS is done, and although there seem to be a fair number of significant events between now and Christmas, this morning was a big one and it feels good to cross it off the list.

Tomorrow I think I'll work on the gluten-free cookies for Open House on Monday. I'm going to try a new recipe from Living Without magazine, If they look anything like the picture, they'll be great!

About time to take my leaky orifices to bed.

Night all.
