Plan A:

Have breakfast and shower, then head out to the baby shower in the morning. Come home for a quiet afternoon of quilt block sewing. Go over Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. Slough off supper because the guys are both in Edmonton to help out at The Mustard Seed until this evening.

Result: nice, relaxed low-stress kind of day.

Plan B: Have breakfast and shower then leave for the baby shower. Experience weird, shuddering power lapses and surges in the car. Completely lose power half a mile from home while turning around to bring the car back to the house. Haul husband and son out to help. Go to the last half of the baby shower, then return home to find husband and son have decided to stay home to do  the work that didn't get done while they were sorting out the dead car. Sew quilt block, go over Sunday School lesson and make chicken supper accompanied by strange Learning Channel shows.

Result: not so nice, less quiet,  fairly stressful day.

But what are you going to do?

Quilt block turned out, (in spite of a cutting out oops), it will be roast chicken and stuffing for supper instead of something solo and predictably lame, and the Sunday School lesson looks better than the title suggested it might be.

To top it all off, the windows have been open all afternoon, birds have been singing happy songs, and the snow is doing a pretty good disappearing act.

After all, the lemonade turned out pretty sweet.

  1. I think I am going to have to look into this quilt block thing. Sounds like a fun sewing project that I might enjoy.

Sorry your day didn't turn out as planned, and that there was some stress involved. However, when I read "roast chicken for supper", it seemed that all turned out okay in the end. The notion of roast chicken distracted me anyway.....
