Randall bought some ginger cookies for me when he was in town yesterday. "Sunstart- Stem Ginger Cookies" to be exact. They are free from gluten, wheat, milk and soy, making them safe to eat. They are quite tasty, being made with brown rice and millet flakes, corn starch and xanthan gum, coconut, cane sugar, stem ginger and molasses... safflower oil, rice syrup and sea salt... familiar ingredients- many of which I have in my pantry...
... but stamped on the bottom it declares: "BEST IF USED BY 2015 JAN 09".
I must eat them before January the ninth, two thousand fifteen... I only have two and a half years to eat these cookies.
Why does that make me just a little afraid?
