Plumbing The Depths

In the midst of snow removal and blizzard recovery last night, Micah went to have a shower and came out reporting that the shower head was leaking.

When The Husband came in from the outdoor deep freeze, he had a go at fixing it.

Turns out we need to replace it- not surprising, really, when you consider that it's at least 7 years old.

We had to make do until today, though it made last night's and this morning's showers pretty pathetic.

Having made it to the street, one my Husband's errands today will be the purchase of a replacement shower head.

I'll be glad when it's fixed. There was very little water pressure in the shower this morning, or last night, I suppose for that matter. The mirrors didn't even get steamy, and it's taken me a couple of hours to warm up! That's just wrong. When the outside temperature is -30 C, one should be able to fill the bathroom with comforting steam that takes at least half an hour to clear out. The bathroom, well after the actual shower has taken place, should be a haven of warmth.

At least I don't have to go out today.

The sky is deceptively blue and innocently devoid of clouds.

The sun is tauntingly bright.

But I'm not fooled.

Baby, it's COLD outside!

  1. I hope for everyone's sake he doesn't buy a low-flow shower head.

  2. They're all low-flow these days, but he de-low-flowed it nicely.
